Equatorial Guinea’s coach, Juan Micha, expressed his team’s high aspirations for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Micha’s team played to a 1-1 tie against the Super Eagles of Nigeria in their first match at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday.
The Nzalang Nacional continued their undefeated run, which now stands at 11 games, after the outcome.
The manager downplayed the outcome and suggested that his club has aspirations to advance in the tournament.
“I believe the team I am in charge of is getting ready every day to participate in this competition.””I am fortunate to have knowledge about the specifics of football due to my experience as a skilled player,” he informed reporters following the match.

Equatorial Guinea made it out of the group stage in their previous four appearances at the AFCON.
They will do battle with the Djurtus of Guinea-Bissau in their next game at the Alassanne Quattara Stadium, Ebimpe, Abidjan on Thursday.
