Ivory Coast national team coach, Jean-Louis Gasset has cautioned Nigeria’s Super Eagles that his team knows their strength ahead of the sides’ 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) on Thursday.
Gasset offered the warning following Ivory Coast’s AFCON 2-0 win against Guinea-Bissau on Saturday night.
Recall that two goals from Seko Fofana and Jean-Philippe Krasso earned Ivory Coast the win over Guinea-Bissau.
Gasset’s will now meet Nigeria in the coming days in their second Group A match.
Speaking at his post-match press conference following the win against Guinea-Bissau, Gasset said:
“Regarding our second match, we know the strengths of Nigeria, they have an impressive offensive armada, they have the best African player in their squad.
“But against them, we will have to raise our cursor. And I know my players will do it because I know you had to win that first game to be released.”
