Jim Harbaugh needs to make a choice regarding the 2024 campaign. His decision will have a significant impact on numerous teams. Many believe the coach of the Michigan Wolverines will depart Ann Arbor after interviewing with the Los Angeles Chargers. It is not a done thing, though. In a recent interview, Harbaugh said he was continuing to consider his options for 2024 while seeking “counsel from God.”
Jim Harbaugh On His 2024 Decision
Harbaugh did the interview at a March for Life event and had this to say.
“I just take the counsel from God and the Holy Spirit. And Mr. Jack Harbaugh, my dad, and my wife, Sarah. Just taking the advice, living one day at a time. One day at a time, one game at a time, one play at a time”
He is being tight-lipped on his plans for 2024. Michigan wants him back as he has led the team to their first national championship in decades. However, the NFL has many interesting positions open. It isn’t often a job with a young franchise quarterback opens up. It is a tough decision and one he is not taking lightly.
What Should He Do?
The sanctions make it tricky, but if we take those out, Harbaugh should stick with Michigan, in my opinion. The university will pay him whatever he wants. He will be a legend forever, especially if he continues to beat Ohio State, Michigan State, and the rest of the Big Ten. The sanctions make it complicated. If the NCAA decides to come down hard on the sign-stealing scandal, that could be an incentive to leave. It is hard to coach a program when there is a postseason ban or a loss of scholarships.
Everyone is anxiously awaiting the decision from Jim Harbaugh, especially Wolverines fans. We should have a decision very soon, as the Chargers will want to ensure good candidates are still available if Harbaugh decides to stay.
