Atlanta Braves general manager Alex Anthopoulos had a message for those fans who believe the franchise requires another major move.
During an appearance at the team’s annual fan fest, Anthopoulos was humorously challenged by some fans who suggested he trade for Chicago White Sox pitcher Dylan Cease. Anthopoulos found the whole affair humorous, but he was honest with the fans in his reaction.
“We’ve already tried. “Expensive,” Anthopoulos replied.

That asking price has undoubtedly reduced Cease’s market, despite the fact that the White Sox have reportedly been willing to trade him throughout the summer. A new team was recently linked to a prospective Cease move, but nothing appears imminent, and the price is still expensive.
The Braves have most likely already made their key pitching move of the offseason. Anthopoulos won’t want to sell the farm at this point.
Ben Johnson only wanted 1 head coach job this offseason?
Ben Johnson chose to return to the Detroit Lions rather than becoming a head coach elsewhere for the second consecutive offseason. The official response to Johnson’s choice was that he had “unfinished business” with the Lions and hoped to win a Super Bowl with them. We also learned that Johnson’s monetary demands may have alarmed certain teams.
On Tuesday, Mark Schlereth appeared on “The Wyman and Bob Show on 710 Seattle Sports.” During his appearance on the show, Schlereth, a FOX host/analyst who announces NFL games, revealed something unexpected. Schlereth stated that he spoke with Johnson a month ago, and Johnson informed the analyst that he would be selective in hiring head coaches. According to Schlereth, the only job Johnson sought was with the Los Angeles Chargers.
