Elijah Moore, a former Ole Miss Rebels wide receiver, is among the most productive pass catchers in school history.
And now, he’s on his way to his second NFL home in his short career.
According to various sources, Moore has been moved from the New York Jets to the Cleveland Browns.
Moore joined the Jets as a second-round pick in 2021.
In exchange for Moore, the Jets will receive a second-round pick (No. 42) and return the No. 74 pick in the third round to Cleveland.
Moore was limited by an erratic quarterback situation in New York, where he caught 80 passes for 984 yards and six touchdowns in two seasons, averaging 12.3 yards per reception.
Moore will, however, have the opportunity to play with Deshaun Watson, a quarterback who has demonstrated the capacity to be outstanding.
He will also be matched up against a Pro Bowl wideout for the first time in his career, Amari Cooper, which should offer him with additional one-on-one opportunities.
Moore was a star for the Rebels, with 189 catches for 2,441 yards and 16 touchdowns over three seasons, ranking fourth in Ole Miss history in terms of yards and receptions and sixth in touchdowns.
Moore was named First-Team All-SEC and consensus All-American in 2020, and he also received the Conerly Trophy as Mississippi’s best player.
