This former Clemson standout is returning to professional football.
Wayne Gallman, a former Tiger running back, has found a new professional home in the United Football League.
The UFL revealed this week that Gallman had signed a deal with one of the league’s teams, the St. Louis Battlehawks.
Gallman’s professional career has most recently included stints on practice squads with the Seattle Seahawks and Kansas City Chiefs in 2022.

His most recent NFL game action occurred in 2021, when he appeared in eight games for the Atlanta Falcons and Minnesota Vikings. He did not have a run in two games with Minnesota, but he ran for 104 yards on 28 carries in six games with Atlanta.
Gallman has appeared in 61 career NFL games, including stints with the New York Giants (2017-20), Falcons (2021), and Vikings (2021), running for 1,548 yards and nine touchdowns.
Gallman was one of the most decorated and productive running backs in Clemson history from 2014-16, racking up 3,429 rushing yards on 676 attempts to go with 34 touchdowns across 42 games (37 starts). He was taken by the Giants in the fourth round (140th overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft. The Loganville, Georgia native has 65 career receptions for 473 yards and two scores.
The United Football League, the new spring professional football league formed by the merging of the XFL and the USFL, will begin play on March 30, with the 10-game regular season broadcast on ABC, ESPN, FOX, and FS1.
