SHOCKING NEWS: The Flyers’ coach gave a message following their Lightning defeat.
Tuesday night at the Wells Fargo Centre, the Philadelphia Flyers fell short against the Tampa Bay Lightning, 6-3, led by hat trick hero Nikita Kucherov. Although there was a playoff vibe to the game, the Flyers’ blunders will cost them dearly both in this game and the playoffs.
On Tuesday night, the Lightning weren’t quite as good as the Harlem Globetrotters, but their greatest players carried the most of the load. That was the strategy against the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday and the Ottawa Senators on Sunday.
Within the first 23 minutes of the game, Nikita Kucherov and Brayden Point combined to give the Lightning a 3-0 advantage. Kucherov’s first two goals were from a one-timer when he was left all alone at the right circle and another defensive blunder that left him all alone at the side of Sam Ersson’s cage. Point’s first goal was a pretty fantastic deflection.
The Flyers were great all around. However, a skilled, championship-winning Lightning core will always make you pay for your egregious errors.
