Several quarterbacks, including one who is presently committed to another school, were on campus this weekend for the Florida Gators coaching staff.
Keelon Russell (6-3, 175, Duncanville, TX. High), a quarterback commit to SMU, came on campus on Saturday and had a great time getting to know the coaching staff.
Russell remarked of his trip to Florida on Saturday, “It was amazing. We drove down, like a 14-hour drive and got here around 10 P.M. [Friday].” “I had the opportunity to speak with numerous coaches, all of them are outstanding and highly skilled. I could sense their affection for me over there.
Russell enjoyed the atmosphere on campus and had a wonderful tour of everything the Gators had to offer when he was there.
About what he got to do on the trip, he remarked, “I saw a lot of different things, seeing a lot of stuff that could fit my game.” “It might work for me, the atmosphere and stadium they have.” Developing that rapport with the coaches was incredible; I really enjoyed hanging out with Coach [Ryan] O’Hara. I adore his mood and enthusiasm.

Russell and his family were shown a great deal of attention by head coach Billy Napier, who also extended an offer of a scholarship to Florida to the quarterback.
Russell remarked after speaking with Coach Napier, “Coach Napier was amazing too, talking to him was great.” “He offered me something to eat while we were conversing. He was praising me and calling me a weapon. He stated I could toss the ball well and that my game was similar to Lamar Jackson’s. He expressed his desire to train me as a quarterback.
Russell also had a meeting on Saturday with quarterback analyst Ryan O’Hara, who gave him an explanation of the things the Gators enjoy about his game.
When asked what O’Hara liked about his game, he replied, “He said I’m a dog with my athleticism, footwork, and the way I can just pass the ball.” “I have it all,” he declared, and they
Russell, who received an offer from the Gators on Saturday, says he intends to return to Gainesville and that Florida plays a significant role in his recruitment.
Regarding his interest in Florida, Russell remarked, “The offer means a lot to me; Florida is a top school for me now.” They are at the top of my recruiting, therefore I was happy to receive the offer. I want to look at a lot more items, so I’m definitely going back this spring.
