FIFA announced on Sunday that eight FIFA World Cup 2026TM matches, including one of the semifinals, will take place in Atlanta, Georgia. In the summer of 2026, the United States, Canada, and Mexico will host the FIFA World Cup 2026TM.
The knockout stage, which will feature a Round of 32 for the first time in World Cup history, will come after the Group Stage, which will comprise 72 matches. From there, the Final will take place on Sunday, July 19 in East Rutherford, New Jersey, after the Round of 16, Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and a Third Place Match.
Every host nation will begin their involvement at home. Mexico City will host the competition’s opening match on Thursday, June 11, with Mexico as one of the two teams in Match 1. On Friday, June 12, the United States will play Match 4 of the World Cup in Los Angeles, while Canada will play its opening match in Toronto.
Beginning on Monday, June 15 with the World Cup encounter encounter 14, Atlanta will host five matches in the Group Stage. Match 72, the final match of the round, will conclude the Group Stage. Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the home of Atlanta United and the Atlanta Falcons of the NFL, will host the games.
