According to 247 Sports, Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin and his staff have assembled the nation’s top transfer portal class for 2024, and they appear to be far from done. According to our sources, three big men—two offensive linemen and one defensive lineman—have arrived for a visit. EDGE BJ Green of Arizona State and offensive lineman Nate Kalepo of Washington are in town, as expected, along with a surprise visitor, former Washington starting offensive guard Julius Buelow.
BJ Green
Green, an edge out of Arizona State, recently committed to Washington out of the portal, but now that Huskies former head coach Kalen DeBoer has accepted the job at Alabama, it appears that Green is keeping his options open.
Over this past season, Green, a junior, led the Sun Devils in sacks with six while tallying 39 total tackles and a forced fumble. Despite being listed as an edge, Green, a Powder Springs, Georgia native, can also be used to blitz from a linebacker position due to his 6’1, 270-pound frame.
If Green commits to Ole Miss, he will have two years of eligibility remaining and will most likely be a starter as soon as he lands on campus. This would be another experienced, physically fit, and proven player for Pete Golding and the ’24 defense.
Nate Kalepo
We have confirmed that former Washington Huskies offensive lineman Nate Kalepo will be visiting Ole Miss today. It’s important mentioning that Kalepo was in Miami this weekend, and the Hurricanes would have preferred to get a commitment before Kalepo could travel to Oxford. But we can confirm that Kalepo is on campus today.
The 6-foot-6, 327-pound Kalepo, a former four-star recruit from Seattle, was ranked as the No. 3 recruit out of Washington in the 2019 cycle.
He has made 40 appearances for the Huskies. The Seattle native started 15 games for Washington in 2023, 14 at left guard and one at right guard, as the Huskies advanced to the College Football Championship game before losing to Michigan. Kalepo allowed one sack in 923 snaps and only 16 pressures. In the national championship game against Michigan, Kalepo allowed no pressure from the right guard position.
He is presently ranked as the No. 8 offensive tackle in the portal.
Kalepo and the Washington offensive line won the 2023 Joe Moore Award as college football’s finest offensive line.
Julius Buelow
Julius Buelow, the former Washington starting offensive guard, has also landed in Oxford for an unexpected visit.
The 6-foot-9, 313-pound Buelow will be a sixth-year senior and is a Kapolei, Hawaii native. In 2023 Buelow saw action in 12 of Washington’s games, missing two games due to injury, Buelow started nine games for that Huskies’ offensive line that took home the Joe Moore Award
Prior to the 2023 season, he played 19 games for Washington, including five starts in 2021.
Buelow was a four-star high school football prospect in Kapolei, Hawaii.
