The Hawthorn Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Daniel Webster as its AFLW Senior Coach.
Webster brings a wealth of expertise and experience to the top post, having previously guided the Brisbane Lions AFLW midfield group for the past two seasons, culminating in an AFLW premiership just three months ago.
Along with coaching the Brisbane Lions Academy and Queensland State Academies, the highly regarded leader has over a decade of NEAFL and State League coaching experience.
Hawthorn General Manager of Football Operations Max Bailey said the club was thrilled to announce Webster as its new AFLW Senior Coach after a thorough search.
“We are thrilled to welcome Daniel to the Hawthorn family,” Bailey said in a statement.
“After an incredibly thorough and rigorous process, Daniel emerged as the clear choice among a very competitive field of candidates.”
“In addition to most recently directing probably the strongest midfield group in the AFLW, we were pleased by Daniel’s exceptional tactical knowledge and grasp of the game, ability to create close relationships with his players, and strong communication abilities.
“With more than a decade of coaching experience, we are extremely confident that Daniel is the right person to drive us into the future as we build on the foundations set in our first two years in the AFLW.”
Hawthorn President Andy Gowers also welcomed Webster into the brown and gold family.
“On behalf of the Hawthorn Football Club, it gives me enormous pleasure to welcome Daniel Webster to the club as our AFLW Senior Coach,” Gowers said in a statement.
“Daniel is not only an excellent coach and leader, but also a wonderful person who exemplifies Hawthorn’s ideals.
