Jonathan Huberdeau of the Calgary Flames achieved a noteworthy career milestone this past week when he participated in NHL game 800. The Florida Panthers selected the 30-year-old veteran third overall in the 2011 draft. He has been a reliable performer ever since he played in the NHL. He’s now achieved a sought-after milestone that demonstrates his tenacity and skating prowess.
In his 800 game career, Huberdeau has played for the Panthers and, most recently, the Calgary Flames. He was acquired by the Panthers in July 2022 in exchange for Matthew Tkachuk. Even if there have been some hiccups along the way in Calgary, he has continuously demonstrated his offensive and leadership abilities. He is now regarded as one of the NHL’s most valuable players.
Huberdeau Is Having a Much-Improved 2024 with the Flames
Huberdeau had a standout season with the Panthers in the 2021–2022 NHL season. In 80 games played, he totaled 115 points with 30 goals and 85 assists. But his offensive output dropped in 2022–23, his rookie season with the Flames. With 15 goals and 40 assists (for a total of 55 points) in 79 games, he dropped to less than half in all of these scoring categories.
Huberdeau will return for the 2023–24 campaign, though. He has consistently scored points. After some early-season setbacks, his play has improved. Since the beginning of the year, Huberdeau has played in just 15 games and scored 15 points, including 11 assists. He has been a point-per-game player since January 1 thanks to this outstanding run.
With former star player Elias Lindholm no longer in the lineup, his increasing output has become crucial for the Flames. Huberdeau’s offensive output and consistency will make him a valuable member of his club as the season goes on. He could have a major impact on his team’s performance if he can quicken his pace, like he did in his final season in Florida.
Congratulations to Huberdeau for Reaching this Milestone
We’d like to congratulate Huberdeau on reaching this outstanding milestone. He’s contributing significantly to his Flames team.
