The Golden State Warriors reportedly attempted to combine Stephen Curry with longtime foe LeBron James.
It did not work. However, there were negotiations, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The ESPN insider stated Wednesday that there was a 24-hour window in which the Warriors spoke with Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss about the prospect of dealing for James, who had openly expressed his unhappiness with the organization.Did James want to be traded? Was he miserable in Los Angeles? The Lakers did not want to move their superstar, according to ESPN. But they apparently spoke with him about his “state of mind” through his agent.
According to Wojnarowski, James and the Lakers both declined a trade.
At 39, James is the NBA’s oldest active player, but he continues to play at a superstar level. James, who is in his 21st NBA season, was chosen All-Star for the 20th time in his career.James has continued to lead Los Angeles to periods of success, including a trip to the Western Conference Finals last season and a triumph in the NBA In-Season Tournament. However, the Lakers are presently tenth in the Western Conference standings, with a record of 29-26. Meanwhile, the Warriors are 10th in the West, just behind Los Angeles, with a record of 26-25.
