The New York Yankees are knocking on the door of someone who has recently arrived in Cancun.
According to Newsday’s Erik Boland, the Yankees are in talks with recently retired pitcher Corey Kluber about a front-office post. According to Boland, the two parties are negotiating Kluber’s advising role within the Yankees organization, which has yet to be decided.
The 37-year-old Kluber, a two-time AL Cy Young champion with the Cleveland Indians, announced his retirement from Major League Baseball last week after 13 seasons. He pitched for the Yankees during the 2021 MLB season and currently resides in the New York area.
Kluber did indicate in his retirement message that he would like to pursue other chances in baseball after this. One such chance appears to be from the familiar Yankees.
