2024 MLB rumors: Latest buzz entering spring training
Milwaukee Brewers plans with Willy Adames, Devin Williams
After parting ways with Brandon Woodruff and then trading Corbin Burnes to the Baltimore Orioles, many assumed a mini-firesale was looming for the Milwaukee Brewers. Unsurprisingly, clubs called Milwaukee about standout infielder Willy Adames and All-Star reliever Devin Williams.
The Brewers aren’t shopping either player, though, according to Jon Heyman of the New York Post. Although it is thought that might alter closer to July’s 2024 trade deadline if Milwaukee doesn’t win the NL Central, Adames and Williams will probably remain in Brewers uniforms for the time being. However, given that Williams and Adames’ contracts are about to expire, we would for MLB rumours about the two to start up around June.
Boston Red Sox, San Diego Padres discussing MLB trade
The San Diego Padres and Boston Red Sox have both shed significant payroll this past offseason, with San Diego trading All-Star outfielder Juan Soto and Boston dealing both starting pitcher Chris Sale and outfielder Alex Verdugo. Now, the two clubs appear to be exploring a potential deal together
The Red Sox and Padres have reportedly held exploratory talks on a transaction that would send outfielder Jarren Duran to San Diego, according to Robert Murray of Fansided. The Padres are in dire need of outfield depth after Trent Grisham and Soto left this offseason. For more than a month, Boston has been linked to Duran in MLB trade rumours; later this spring, the two parties may reopen negotiations.
