By the end of the 2023 season, the Green Bay Packers had proven to the NFL that their offense would not lose a beat after dealing away four-time MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The Packers went 7-3 in their final ten games of the season, including a decisive Wild Card victory over the Dallas Cowboys.
The Packers have added yet another player to their offensive lineup.
The Green Bay Packers Sign Addition To Offense
Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur has hired Eddie Gordon as his assistant offensive line coach, according to 247 Sports.
Gordon coached the offensive line at UAB in 2023, having previously helped create Georgia’s powerful offensive line.
“We are so lucky to get Eddie Gordon to join our staff here at UAB,” UAB coach and former NFL quarterback Trent Dilfer said last year. “Eddie was important in the formation of two national championship offensive lines. He is widely known in the offensive line community and has played an important role in Georgia’s recent success.
Gordon served as a graduate assistant for the Bulldogs’ offensive line from 2019 to 2021, and as a quality control coach in 2022. Georgia won back-to-back crowns and appeared in a New Year’s Six bowl game all four seasons under Gordon, including victories in the 2019 Sugar Bowl and 2020 Peach Bowl.
Gordon worked as a graduate assistant for the Bulldogs’ offensive line from 2019-2021 and as a quality control coach in 2022. In addition to winning back-to-back titles, Georgia was in a New Year’s Six bowl all four seasons while Gordon was there, including wins in the 2019 Sugar Bowl and the 2020 Peach Bowl.
Under Georgia’s dominant run in which they were 29-1, they ranked fourth nationally in sacks allowed in 2022 and sixth nationally in 2021. They also were in the top 20 in rushing offense.
Gordon played two seasons at Louisiana before entering Georgia (2017-18). In 2017, he was the Ragin’ Cajuns’ offensive line graduate assistant, and in 2018, he was the team’s director of player development and assistant strength coach.
