Collin Sadler, a Clemson offensive lineman, spoke to the media following spring practice. Take in some of the subjects covered below.
“Contagious” describes how the energy has spread. Matt Luke takes pride in his high energy level. He takes satisfaction in not asking his players to perform things he would not do himself. He’s out here bringing the juice every day, and it almost feels like it’s our fault if we don’t match it. So it’s virtually an obligation for us. We’re grateful for him and glad he came to our program. “We’re excited to start building this spring.”
On whether he likes Matt. Luke’s style: “Oh, absolutely. He also takes delight in leaving no room for ambiguity. He informs you exactly how and when he wants things. It simplifies the offense.
On the importance of depth: “It’s huge. You know, with the playoffs extending, we have the chance to play 17 games if we make it all the way. Competitive depth is extremely important, and we have plenty of it this season. We’ve got Harris and Trent coming in. I mean, I’m just extremely sure that if someone goes down, we’ll have players coming in that are just as competitive and will go out there and give it their all for this team.”
In terms of younger boys, Elyjah Thurmn stands out. He’s going to be a dog. He’s going to be OK. This year, he will be able to jump in right away. I believe he is capable of making a significant difference. His technique is incredibly polished; he plays under himself and with great strength. More than anything, he’s simply explosive. I’m genuinely looking forward to seeing what he can do.
