Onis Konanbanny, a four-star cornerback from Columbia (S.C.) Heathwood Hall Episcopal, had his third visit to Clemson last Thursday.
“I’ve had contact with Clemson since my sophomore year (at Rabun Gap-Nacoochee in Georgia),” Konanbanny told 247Sports. “I’ve gotten back in contact with them again recently.”
Thursday’s visit allowed Konanbanny to get a better look at the Tigers’ program.
Konanbanny has received offers from Alabama, Florida State, LSU, Tennessee, South Carolina, Penn State, Stanford, Michigan, USC, Texas A&M, Ohio State, and Oklahoma, among other schools, but not Clemson.
“Coach (Mike) Reed just said he and I would stay in communication,” Konanbanny was quoted as saying.
Konanbanny intends to return to Clemson for another spring practice this month. He also expects Reed to visit his school during the evaluation session later this spring.
Konanbanny aspires to meet Dabo Swinney on the next Clemson trip, as he did not get the opportunity to do so on the most recent trip.
Last week, Konanbanny visited North Carolina.
“I loved it,” he stated. “Every time I visit there it’s fun and I have a great relationship with the coaches.”
He’s planning a visit to Alabama and possibly LSU this spring. He also knows he’ll get to South Carolina this month or next. He can see Williams-Brice Stadium from Heathwood Hall Episcopal, so there isn’t much planning required.
Three schools are scheduled to get formal visits in June: North Carolina on June 7, Penn State on June 14, and Tennessee on June 21. He also expects to make an official visit to South Carolina in the spring or summer.
Other schools cited by Konanbanny include Miami, Minnesota, and Cincinnati.
Konanbanny (6-1, 180) has a rating of 88 on 247Sports. He grew up playing soccer in France and spent time in London before relocating to the United States in 2022.
He intends to make a decision following official trips, which may include fall visits.
“In a perfect world I would make a decision going into my senior season, but I don’t really know yet,” Konanbanny said in a statement.
