After visiting the Florida Gators earlier this month, Cincinnati (OH) Anderson three-star tight end Caden Piening expressed plans to meet and work out dates to return to UF for an official visit. A few weeks after making that statement, he and tight ends coach Russ Callaway have scheduled a return visit for the weekend of June 14-16. It will be his second visit to Florida, assuming he is able to return.
Callaway has been the primary recruiter for Piening. They’ve stayed in touch since he was offered in late January. The unofficial visit gave the two the opportunity to sit and converse in person. The relationship got off to a good start and had the opportunity to become even stronger after moving to Gainesville.
It was fantastic to converse with him, especially since we weren’t on a time rush,” he added of Callaway. “We sat down and talked for about an hour to wrap up my visit, but he reiterated that my versatility as a dual threat tight end is what they are looking for and that they see me as a good fit. Coach Callaway and I have made an effort to stay in touch by calling each other at least once a week. After they offered me, Coach Callaway approached me in person, so my family and I decided to make the journey to observe how they operate. I think this vacation went extremely well considering it was our first time and the relationship.
