Since transferring from Cardinal Gibbons to St. Thomas Aquinas earlier this year, in-state Edge Richard Scott has received increased interest from colleges. Following the move, a flurry of fresh offers were given, with the Florida Gators entering the picture in February when he visited for their final Junior Day before the start of the winter ‘Dead Period’.
It was his first trip to Florida, and he wanted to learn more about what the institution had to offer, as well as how the coaches and staff worked there.

Thursday is a hectic day in Gainesville for the Florida Gators. The squad will have its annual Pro Day, at which draft-eligible prospects can meet with NFL scouts. The current team will also participate in their fourth spring football session, preparing for the Orange and Blue spring game on April 13. Florida’s highest rated 2025 commitment in the Top247 is Tallahassee (Fla.). Jalen Wiggins, a four-star defensive lineman from James Rickards, is set to return to the University of Florida campus for the first time since announcing his verbal commitment in January. He last visited for Junior Day and committed to the Gators a few days later. Wiggins had been considered a Florida candidate even before he made his choice, but the timing was unexpected. He is quite familiar with the UF campus and coaching staff, having visited The Swamp on a regular basis since being offered last year. Outside linebackers coach Mike Peterson and Gerald Chatman, the new defensive line coach,who have been his primary contacts on the staff. The Gators consider Wiggins a ‘F’ position player, meaning he will play as a defensive end but can also slide inside on the defensive line in certain situations. While it’s fantastic for Wiggins to return for another visit and be in the ears of other targets, it’s equally crucial to keep him on campus and encourage him to do additional trips. He intends to attend Florida State on March 23 and will make an official visit there in June. He also has formal visits scheduled for Florida and Stanford in June.
