Mathis Rayan Cherki accueille à la maison des jumeaux..
ESPN claimed back in July that the Blues were set to make a bid for the attacker and they still look to be interested in him now.
Currently sitting 15th in Ligue 1, there is a real chance of Lyon getting relegated. It would make signing Cherki an even easier task for Chelsea.
The Frenchman has made 19 league appearances this season but is still waiting for his first goal.
Rayan Cherki could be a bargain for Chelsea
If Chelsea can sign Cherki for around £20m, it could prove to be very good business.
Cherki has obviously not scored in Ligue 1 yet, but he is still a young player with a lot of talent.
As per WhoScored, the Frenchman is completing 2.3 dribbles per game. It is the highest average in his squad. He is also making 1.4 key passes, the second-highest average.
Cherki can play as a No.10 and out wide and at 20, he has time to become much better.
If Chelsea do want to sign a new attacker in the summer, then, it will certainly be interesting to see what direction they want to go in.
Cherki looks attainable, but the club already have the likes of Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke, who are still quite young and raw. It may make more sense to go for someone more proven than Cherki.
Signing players around Cherki’s age, though, has been at the centre of Chelsea’s transfer strategy since the Blues were taken over by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital. It is good news for Cherki if he is hoping to secure a move to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
