    • The Official Charity Of The Savannah Bananas Has A Hard Time Explaining How lts Money Is Spent. Bananas Foster describes itself as “the official non-profit of Banana Ball,” the barnstorming baseball league that hosts the Savannah Bananas. Its mission, per executive director Jolie Chabala, is “celebrating the foster care community, while educating and inspiring others to get involved.” It’s not so sharply defined a mission, but what Bananas Foster has going for it is attention: The Bananas have become a viral sensation, and Banana Ball—soon to be rechristened the Banana Ball Championship League—is set to grow in 2026 by 50 percent, from four to six teams. Bananas Foster is featured prominently on the websites of both the league and its marquee team, and the Bananas run a Bananas Foster promotion at all of their exhibitions, which tend to sell out everywhere they go. Bananas Foster raises funds from individual donors. “We are completely donor-based, meaning that we do not do any type of grant-writing,” said Chabala, who proposed that this allows her organization to avoid competing for resources with other non-profits working within the foster system. “I don’t want these organizations to feel threatened by Bananas Foster.” Read Full story Below

BREAKING NEWS: Jesse Cole Unveils Bold New Savannah Bananas Jersey Logo, Sparking Debate Among Fans. The decision marks the first major update to the team’s uniform branding since its launch in 2016. And true to the Bananas’ spirit, it is anything but…

When it comes to baseball, Jesse Cole has never been afraid to shake things up. The yellow tuxedo-wearing showman, owner, and mastermind behind the Savannah Bananas has built his franchise on breaking rules, rewriting traditions, and pushing the boundaries of what sports entertainment can be. Now, in a move that has sparked fresh excitement and debate, Cole has announced changes to the Savannah Bananas’ iconic logo that will appear on the team’s jerseys starting next season.

The decision marks the first major update to the team’s uniform branding since its launch in 2016. And true to the Bananas’ spirit, it is anything but conventional.

    The New Look

The updated logo is bold, playful, and more dynamic than its predecessor. While the original smiling banana swinging a bat quickly became one of the most recognizable—and beloved—symbols in baseball, Cole explained that the team wanted something that would reflect the evolution of Banana Ball into a global sports phenomenon.

The redesigned emblem features a sleeker banana character with sharper outlines, a wider grin, and a splash of electric yellow paired with deep green accents. It conveys more energy and motion, a nod to the team’s fast-paced version of the game. The jerseys will also include the phrase “Go Bananas!” stitched along the sleeve, as well as subtle pinstripe details in the team’s signature yellow.

“This isn’t just a logo change—it’s a statement,” Cole said during the unveiling at Grayson Stadium. “The Bananas are about joy, fun, and breaking the mold. Our look should reflect the energy of Banana Ball, the love of our fans, and the global stage we’re stepping onto.”

    Fan Reactions: Mixed but Passionate

As with any rebrand, reactions from fans came quickly—and passionately. Some celebrated the fresh design, calling it modern, exciting, and representative of the Bananas’ explosive growth.

“It’s bold, it’s fun, it’s everything the Bananas stand for,” said long-time fan Sarah Mitchell, who drove from Atlanta to attend the announcement. “This team has always been about change and creativity. The new logo captures that perfectly.”

Others, however, were more skeptical. For many, the original smiling banana held sentimental value. It wasn’t just a logo—it was a symbol of the scrappy underdog team that turned the baseball world upside down.

“I get that they want to evolve,” said Jeff Robinson, a season ticket holder since 2017. “But part of me is sad to see the old logo fade out. It represented the beginning of something special, and that history is important.”

Social media buzzed with polls, memes, and side-by-side comparisons of the old and new designs. On Twitter, one fan joked, “The old banana looked like he’d buy you popcorn at the ballpark. The new one looks like he’d steal home plate.”

    Why the Change Now?

Cole explained that the timing of the rebrand wasn’t accidental. With the Bananas’ world tour expanding in 2026 and a Netflix docuseries continuing to bring global attention, the organization felt it was time to refresh their image for a wider audience.

“The world is watching now,” Cole said. “We’ve gone from a local sensation in Savannah to a worldwide brand. Our logo and jerseys should be able to stand shoulder to shoulder with any major sports franchise out there.”

In many ways, the update symbolizes the Bananas’ transition from novelty to cultural movement. The team has already sold out stadiums across the country, and with a new logo, they’re signaling that they’re not just a quirky baseball team anymore—they’re a brand with staying power.

    Merchandise and Marketing Impact

The Bananas have long relied on merchandise sales as a key part of their business model, with fans across the country proudly wearing Banana shirts, hats, and even yellow tuxedo replicas. The new logo is expected to spark another surge in sales, as collectors rush to grab both the old “classic” designs and the updated look.

Bananas merchandise director Emily Cole (Jesse’s wife and business partner) noted that early pre-orders for the new jerseys have already exceeded expectations. “People love to be part of history,” she said. “Owning one of the first jerseys with the new logo is like owning a piece of the Bananas’ next chapter.”

    Beyond Baseball: A Brand Strategy

Marketing experts say the rebrand reflects Cole’s bigger vision: to position the Bananas as more than a baseball team.

“This is classic brand evolution,” said Professor Martin Gaines, a sports marketing analyst at the University of Georgia. “The Bananas aren’t just competing with other baseball teams—they’re competing with Disney, with Broadway, with live entertainment worldwide. The updated logo is about creating a timeless, scalable identity that can expand into new arenas.”

Already, the team has announced plans for expanded international tours, more digital content, and collaborations with major entertainment brands. A refreshed logo helps set the stage for those moves.

    What’s Next for the Bananas?

Cole hinted that the new logo may only be the beginning of visual changes. Future jerseys could include rotating designs based on tour locations, special fan-created editions, and even augmented reality features that interact with mobile apps.

“We’ve always said Banana Ball is a fans-first experience,” Cole said. “This logo is just one way to keep evolving, keep surprising, and keep making sure our fans feel part of the story.”

Whether loved or debated, one thing is certain: the Savannah Bananas are once again at the center of baseball’s most unconventional conversation. And as always, Jesse Cole wouldn’t have it any other way.
