Corey Amos hadn’t even left Oxford when the Mother Ship summoned him home. The 6-2, 200-pound linebacker from Opelousas (La.) High School committed to Ole Miss on his junior day visit.
Amos picked Ole Miss over Michigan, Miami, Mississippi State, Penn State, Missouri, Tulane, Texas-San Antonio, Central Florida, Louisiana Tech, and Louisiana-Lafayette, among others. He is a four-star prospect on the industry-generated 247Sports Composite index, ranked as the No. 30 linebacker in the country and the No. 6 player in Louisiana’s 2025 recruiting class.
Rebels Gain Commitment From 2025 LB Corey Amos
The Ole Miss Rebels held their Junior Day event this weekend and earned an elite commitment from a guest on Saturday night. Corey Amos, a four-star linebacker in the 2025 recruiting class, has formally committed to the Rebels. You can see his commitment post here. “I’m coming home @CoachGolding @OleMissFB,” Amos said on social media.
Amos plays for Opelousas (La.) High School and selected Ole Miss over offers from the Mississippi State Bulldogs, Penn State Nittany Lions, and Miami Hurricanes. He is Ole Miss’s first prep pledge in the 2025 class, but he continues defensive coordinator Pete Golding’s good record on the recruiting road overall. Golding was important in capping off a strong 2024 recruiting class and securing some of the country’s top transfer portal prospects this summer. The Ole Miss defense is adding significant players from the portal, such defensive lineman Walter Nolen, edge rusher Princely Umanmielen, and others, but the Rebels also signed a prep linebacker in Raymond Collins in the most recent class.
This weekend’s Junior Day also saw the Rebels welcome K.J. Lacey, a Texas Longhorns quarterback commit.
