Over the last three seasons, Georgia’s football program has produced one of the top tight ends in the country, but former three-year standout Brock Bowers will leave for the NFL in April. The Bulldogs utilized Bowers in a variety of ways, extracting every ounce of athleticism from their freak offensive skill. However, head coach Kirby Smart and Georgia made a big splash on Friday in an attempt to replace Bowers’ on-field productivity. According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, the Bulldogs have signed former Stanford Cardinal player Benjamin Yurosek via the transfer site.According to On3 Sports, Yurosek is considered one of the top transfer tight ends, with only former Alabama Crimson Tide star Amari Niblack and Oregon State transfer Jack Velling outperforming him in NIL value. Niblack was a four-star recruit, and Velling has 45 catches for 719 yards and 11 touchdowns over two collegiate seasons. Benjamin Yurosek, the 13th-ranked tight end in the 2020 class according to 247Sports, attended Bakersfield Christian High School prior to joining the Stanford Cardinal. He had no offensive statistics as a true freshman before catching 43 catches for 658 yards and three touchdowns in 2021. The 6-foot-5, 232-pound tight end had his best game against Arizona State in early October, with six grabs for 118 yards. Yurkosek fought with injuries this season, catching 16 passes for 239 yards and one touchdown in only six games. However, he opened the season with nine receptions for 138 yards and a touchdown against the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors. During his four-year career with the Cardinals, the California native carried five times for 14 yards.
