Despite selecting Kenny Pickett in the first round just two years ago, the Pittsburgh Steelers are still unsure whether their franchise quarterback is on the roster. Last season, Mike Tomlin’s club started three different quarterbacks. They still made the playoffs, but no one considered the Steelers a legitimate Super Bowl candidate.Obviously, the franchise wants that to alter this offseason. We’ve already seen one significant change to the offense, with former Atlanta Falcons head coach Arthur Smith named offensive coordinator. Some feel Smith may reunite with one of his former quarterbacks from his time as the Titans’ playcaller.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Pittsburgh Steelers are expected to look into signing Ryan Tannehill this offseason. Tannehill, who has started for his team in 10 of his 11 NFL seasons, is ready to become a free agent after five seasons with Tennessee, which appears to be moving forward with Will Levis as its franchise quarterback.
