Virat Kohli heaped high praise on legendary basketball player Michael Jordan. Speaking to the US Consulate General Mumbai, the talismanic India batter talked about how he was impressed by Jordan’s on-court intensity and win-at-all-costs attitude. In the video, Kohli is heard saying, “The time that I saw Michael Jordan play…it was just a real, natural connect with his body language, with the way he moved on the court and just his personality and that, you know, you could see on his face the intensity and the will to win. And I just immediately connected to that I was like, man, I want to watch this guy again and again.”

Fans reacted to Kohli’s tribute in the comment section wholeheartedly. One of them talked about how both athletes were amongst the best in their respective sports. He wrote, “Virat Kohli, the goat athlete and cricketer. Respect for another goat of basketball and legend MJ”

Seeing the cricket star’s high praises for the Basketball icon, one fan wrote, “See kids? That’s why Jordan is the GOAT.”
Another agreed and added, “Indeed Michael Jordan is the greatest athlete that has ever lived.”

Speaking further in the interview, Kohli also talked about how he used to keep an eye on all the upcoming matches of Jordan’s Chicago Bulls. “I used to mark in the newspaper, the list of the Chicago Bulls games when they were gonna be aired. And I made sure that I was up to watch him play. And there was magic in every game that he played, there was some or the other happening. So for me, that was a very strong core memory and something that I still hold very dearly,” Kohli said.
Kohli is currently taking part in the T20 World Cup 2024. The Indian cricket team booked a semi-final spot in the competition. India qualified for the semi-final after beating Australia at the Super Eight stage on June 24. India will now take on the defending champions England in the semis on Thursday, June 27.
