However, while the quality in the running back room has not diminished, the Bulldogs have gone nearly five seasons without a 1,000-yard rusher.
D’andre Swift, who ran for 1,218 yards in 2019, was the most recent running back to surpass 1,000 yards. Since then, a few running backs have gotten close, but none have been able to surpass the record. While this tendency may scare some, it is for good reason. The Bulldogs’ passing offense has improved dramatically because to highly talented ball catchers like Ladd McConkey and Brock Bowers. In addition, the Dawgs have started running “by committee,” which means many backs split carries throughout the game.
However, 2024 may bring fresh opportunities for the Georgia offense, as the running back room has lately been bolstered with new talent.
