JULY 21 FIELDS AS BAKER? Should the Pittsburgh Steelers pay Russell Wilson backup Justin Fields as if he’s the second coming of Baker Mayfield?
The Browns know all about the first coming of Mayfield; it didn’t work out.
Now along comes the suggestion from one national outlet that opportunity to keep Fields (who like Wilson is out of contract after this year) might be a bargain at a Baker-like price.
That prediction would have Fields getting a three-year deal like the Buccaneers just paid Baker … a fine idea except that Mayfield has a new three-year, $100 million contract because he just led them to the playoffs and a postseason win.
How will Pittsburgh ever know if Fields is Mayfield? They won’t … until after he’s handed the money and the job.

JULY 21 – TRYOUT – With training camp just days away for many teams around the league, there are sure to be plenty of last-minute roster additions. The days leading up to and even during camp are pretty popular times for teams to dip back into free agency as they try and fill outstanding holes on their roster.
The Miami Dolphins could be the latest example. According to a report from the NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe, they will host the Cleveland Browns‘ former second-round edge rusher Emmanuel Ogbah for a workout on Monday.
Ogbah, the Oklahoma State product, played just three seasons for the Browns after being taken on Day 2 of the 2016 NFL Draft. In his rather short time in Cleveland, Ogbah started in all 40 of his appearances, totaling 70 tackles, 16 for a loss, and 12.5 sacks.
He was then traded to the Kansas City Chiefs, where he’d spend the 2019 season before signing with the Miami Dolphins, which is where he had been for the past four seasons before his release this offseason.
However, despite their past familiarity, the Dolphins will host Ogbah for a workout before potentially deciding to re-sign him.
