An Open Letter from David and Madison to the MAFS Couples’ Fans
Dear MAFS Fans,
We hope this letter finds you well. As we reflect on our journey throughout this season of Married at First Sight, we wanted to take a moment to directly connect with all of you—our loyal supporters and, even those who might not have understood us at first. We know that reality television can be a rollercoaster ride, full of twists, turns, highs, and lows, and we’re thankful for the platform it’s provided us to grow both as individuals and as a couple. We are grateful for the opportunity to share our lives with you.
From the very beginning, we knew that participating in MAFS was going to be an incredible challenge. The experiment wasn’t just about finding love; it was about navigating the pressures of marriage, being filmed 24/7, and putting our trust in the hands of experts who believed in our compatibility. When we first met at the altar, there were so many emotions running through us. For us, it was truly a leap of faith—one that required vulnerability, patience, and, at times, a lot of grit.
We understand that many of you have been watching with bated breath, offering support, advice, and even criticism. It’s been an emotional journey, and we don’t take any of your thoughts or feedback lightly. We know that it’s easy to judge from the outside, but the reality of being in this process isn’t always what it appears to be on television. There are countless moments behind the scenes that don’t make it to air, and while some of those moments may not align with the perception people have of us, they’ve still been part of our growth as a couple.
One thing we’ve learned through all of this is that no relationship is perfect. Our journey hasn’t been without its struggles, but we’re proud of the work we’ve put in to understand each other better. We’ve faced challenges head-on, and while it hasn’t always been easy, we’ve been committed to seeing it through. The ups and downs that you’ve watched unfold on screen are only a small fraction of the real work that goes on behind closed doors. It’s taken a lot of communication, trust, and compromise to reach where we are now, and we’re not pretending that it’s all been smooth sailing.
We also want to acknowledge the incredible support from the fans who have stood by us throughout this experience. Your kind words, encouragement, and messages of love have meant more to us than we can express. You’ve reminded us that, even when things seem uncertain, there are people out there who see the good in us and are cheering for us. That’s something we will always carry with us.
At the same time, we recognize that there are critics who have voiced their concerns about our relationship. We completely understand that not everyone will agree with our choices or the way we’ve navigated certain situations. But the beauty of this journey is that we get to make our own decisions and define what works for us. We appreciate constructive criticism because it allows us to grow, but we also ask for kindness and understanding as we continue to navigate this unique path.
As we approach the final episodes of this season, we are more committed than ever to staying true to who we are as a couple. Whatever the outcome, we are proud of the progress we’ve made and the lessons we’ve learned. Relationships take work, and we’ve come to realize that our story is still being written. We don’t have all the answers, but we are open to whatever the future holds, knowing that we’ve given this our best shot.
To the MAFS community, thank you for watching, thank you for your unwavering support, and thank you for being a part of our journey. We hope that, in some way, our experience has resonated with you, whether it’s inspired you, challenged you, or simply provided entertainment. Relationships are complex, and we’re learning that the most important thing is to stay true to ourselves, to each other, and to the love we’ve chosen to nurture.
With gratitude and appreciation,
David & Madison
