NEW ERA: Metallica Announces Massive 2025 World Tour — Dates and Cities Officially Revealed
The kings of heavy metal have returned — louder, bolder, and ready to conquer the globe once again. Metallica has officially announced their long-awaited 2025 World Tour, sending shockwaves through the rock and metal community as dates and cities were revealed today in an electrifying announcement.
Titled “The M72: World Wide Encore Tour”, the global trek is a continuation and reinvention of their blockbuster M72 Tour, supporting their most recent album 72 Seasons. With a promise of “new energy, fresh setlists, and even heavier riffs,” the band is gearing up to deliver a next-level concert experience across five continents, beginning March 15, 2025 in Perth, Australia.
BACK ON TOP — STRONGER THAN EVER
After four decades of redefining metal, Metallica proves once again that they’re not slowing down. Vocalist and rhythm guitarist James Hetfield, now 61, said in the official press statement:
“We still have fire in the tank. This tour is about connecting with fans across the planet — old and new. It’s a celebration of our music, our journey, and our future.”
Drummer Lars Ulrich added,
“We’ve been planning this for over a year. Every city, every stage, every note — it’s all going to be bigger. This isn’t just another tour. It’s a global metal celebration.”
TOUR FORMAT AND SPECIAL FEATURES
Much like their recent tours, the 2025 run will feature two-night performances in most major cities — with no repeat songs, meaning fans who attend both nights will get entirely different setlists.
Fans can also expect:
- Rotating stage design with a 360° in-the-round experience
- Revamped setlists blending deep cuts with classics like “Enter Sandman,” “One,” and “Master of Puppets”
- New live renditions of tracks from 72 Seasons
- On-screen visuals celebrating the band’s history and late bassist Cliff Burton
- Surprise guest appearances and opening acts from emerging and legendary bands alike
The fan club pre-sale begins July 20, while general ticket sales go live July 24 via Metallica.com and official vendors.
