Titled Led Zeppelin: Whole Lotta Legacy, the feature-length documentary is set to premiere globally on September 20, 2025, and promises to deliver an in-depth, emotional, and sonically explosive journey through the band’s meteoric rise, explosive success, internal struggles, and enduring impact on generations of artists and fans.
With unprecedented access to the band’s archives and never-before-seen footage, Whole Lotta Legacy aims to be the definitive documentary on Led Zeppelin — not only as musical pioneers but as cultural trailblazers whose influence reverberates across decades.
“We Wanted to Tell Our Story — Our Way”
In a rare joint statement, surviving band members Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, and John Paul Jones expressed their excitement about the documentary and their deep involvement in its production.

Produced in partnership with Sony Music Entertainment and Mercury Studios, and directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Asif Kapadia (Amy, Senna, Diego Maradona), the film blends original interviews, restored concert footage, private recordings, rare backstage moments, and contemporary reflections from the band and their closest collaborators.
