R.I.P; Georgia bulldogs greatest mascot known as Uga X, aka ‘Que,’ dies

Another UGA has left Georgia. The University of Georgia said that “Que,” the former Georgia football mascot who had reigned as Uga X, passed away quietly at home on Tuesday morning. He was ten years old. Prior to the Bulldogs’ game versus Georgia Southern on November 21, 2015, Que, a pure white English bulldog like all the other Georgia mascots, was “collared” as Uga X. Due to his deteriorating health, he retired after the 2022 season, making him one of the most accomplished mascots in UGA football history in terms of on-field achievements.

Under Uga X’s watch, the Bulldogs won two national championships and two SEC championships. His overall record of 91-18 is the best in the history of the school mascots. Que was succeeded by a young pup named “Boom,” who took over at Georgia’s G-Day game in April. Boom is now 13-1 as Uga XI. The “Uga” line dates to 1956, when “Hood’s Ole Dan” was introduced to the Bulldog nation as Uga I by distinguished UGA alums Cecelia and Frank “Sonny” Seiler.

For a while, things will be a little different around the house “Sonny’s son Charles Seiler, who has taken care of Georgia’s mascots for many years, stated. Around 5:30 a.m., Que usually begins barking for breakfast. Boom will be a little later each day because he waited until six a.m. this morning to let us know he was ready for his food.” Que’s life expectancy was somewhat average for this specific bulldog breed. On May 13, he would have turned eleven. With 11 football seasons, Uga I held the longest reign (1956–66). Both Uga V and VI ruled for ten years. Que will be buried in the same spot in Sanford Stadium’s southwest corner as the other Uga line mascots.
