Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper, Ronwen Williams has received an international nod, following his nomination for the 2024 Ballon d’Or Yachine Trophy.

The annual French football awards released the full nomination list for 2024, and the Downs shot stopper made it on the prestigious list of the recently introduced category.

Not only is he the sole African nominee in this year’s rendition of the awards, but he also becomes the first goalkeeper in history to be nominated for the Yachine Trophy while playing for an African club. helped the Brazilians win the inaugural African Football League (AFL) and the DStv Premiership in the 2024/24 campaign.
