Sad news Adrien Rabiot might make the trip for Marseille’s match against Strasbourg.
According to a report by RMC Sport, Adrien Rabiot (29) could be chosen as part of the Olympique de Marseille squad that will travel to face RC Strasbourg Alsace on Sunday evening.
Rabiot for the first time since completing his free transfer to Marseille this month was involved in his new club’s team training session during the week. All involved in the midfielder’s transfer have shown a sense of caution about using the France international too early.
Rabiot’s prolonged troubles in finding a new club meant that he missed both preseason training and the start of the season, so Marseille were keen on slowly integrating him into the action with a return to the pitch loosely planned for after the upcoming international break (October 7th to the 15th).
However, as RMC Sport writes, Valentin Rongier (29) and Bamo Meïté (22) were both absent from training this week, while Leonardo Balerdi (25) will be suspended. This could mean that Geoffrey Kondogbia (31) will start again in the centre of defence, and Ismaël Koné (22) in midfield, meaning Rabiot could be on the bench to provide cover.
