According to reports, Liverpool is getting close to making their first summer signing, and the Premier League will likely approve the agreement in the next few days. The Reds’ hiring process has started slowly as they get ready to be without Jurgen Klopp in the dugout.
Arne Slot, the new manager, has not yet added any new players to his roster, but that may soon change since Liverpool is almost done with their first window acquisition. Rio Ngumoha, a teenage forward, is supposedly close to joining the Merseyside giants, pending Premier League consent.
Ngumoha recently departed Chelsea, where he was well-liked and trained alongside the first team. He is rumored to have already decided to sign with Liverpool, where he intends to advance to senior football in an attempt to follow in the footsteps of Kaide Gordon and Stefan Bajcetic.
Due to his advanced age, the Premier League has required the proposed transfer to go through a five-step examination process. Fabrizio Romano reports that the transaction is expected to go through, allowing Ngumoha to sign with Liverpool before to the start of the upcoming campaign.
The 16-year-old debuted for Chelsea’s under-18 team in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy and played nine games for the team the previous year. According to reports, he rejected new terms to sign with Liverpool, where he believes there is a more direct route to playing in the first team.
It’s unclear if Liverpool will add any more experienced players to bolster their roster ahead of the forthcoming Premier League season. Slot is not concerned about the club’s lack of summer business because he inherited a solid group and would rather concentrate on the players who are already in the building.
