A report that details the low price Manchester City player Julian Alvarez is accepting has given Arsenal and Chelsea a significant advantage in their pursuit of him.
Alvarez is presently representing Argentina internationally at the Olympic Games in Paris. When the center-forward candidly discussed being on Man City’s bench recently, it generated speculation about a possible departure from the Etihad.
Alvarez said: “I haven’t stopped to think about what I’m going to do. Last season I was one of the players who played the most minutes in the team.
“But it’s true: in the end, in some important games, it’s not pleasant to be left out. I will have time to consider my decision. I haven’t stopped to think things through calmly.
Pep Guardiola, the manager of City, responded to Alvarez’s remarks with a somewhat icy demeanor, feeling that he has given the World Cup winner a reasonable amount of playing time.
Arsenal and Chelsea, two of City’s Premier League opponents, were also made aware by Alvarez’s remarks.
After it was discovered that the 24-year-old might be dissatisfied with his circumstances at City, Chelsea was among the first teams to be linked with a bid for him. However, shocking rumors surfaced on Friday that Arsenal is also a contender to sign Alvarez.
